Default Tune questions

ok so i have a question on a stock ls1 it has vette cold air intake kit.
but thats it nothing else is done no aftermarket cam or anything.

now on the stock set up using like hp tuners what kind of gains would i see.
by getting the computer tuned in my 2000 z28 ?
would it even be worth it or just wait untill i add a cam or headers or something?

You can fix the wide open throttle air/fuel ratio, add timing, delete emissions, CAGS (if 6 spd), adjust shift points and firmness (if automatic), and a few other things. I would say a tune is worth 10-20 HP and a few MPGs on a stock LS1 depending on the tuner.

There are lots of improvements to be had on the stock car. But you can see gains after fixing for your cold air kit you are using as well.

There are things to make it run cooler, shift better, delete codes, more horsepower, tweeked to your driving style, ect...

Normally you can find a tuner that gives you free or cheap retunes. So in the future, when you do add more things, you just send the computer back and they add to the tune for those mods.

Myself, I have never charged for retunes, and only charge 75 for the initial tune, That or 163 if they want me to ship them a computer that they get to keep.... Been the same price for 15 years... Well besides the shipping charges. ;(

MAF curve. Anything changed in the intake tract between ambient air (can't think of a better term) and the MAF will change how it reads.
