Default Ls7 4 cylinder idle, is it possible/advisable?

Looking at the possibility of cutting fuel and spark to 4 cylinders at idle to mainly reduce heat buildup. I'm guessing that as I didn't turn up anything using search that it isn't advisable, desirable, or possible etc.

Was thinking of electronically cutting the feed to the injectors and coil packs.

I'm guessing the E38 ECM won't like it but not sure what it would do or even if the engine is capable of idling with just 4 cylinders. I'm not sure how it detects misfires or what it would do if it saw the same mass airflow but the revs were falling below the idle set point etc.

The more I type the more I'm thinking this isn't going to be workable. Still, going to ask anyway.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
