Default AF ratio 16 at idle, problem?

First off all, I don't have any O2 sensors in the exhaust & our version of PCM does not use any input from O2 sensors. I guess that it runs in speed density mode but Iam not sure.

Anyway, I hooked up LM-1 AF meter & found that at idle & cruising my AF ratio ranges between 16.0-16.5 and at WOT is it between 13.8-14.0. I don't have LS1 Edit so I hooked up a MAFT and set it to 10% rich at base & 0 at WOT. After driving it for 50 miles I have the idle & cruising at 14.5-14.8 & WOT at 12.8-13.0.

Obviously those numbers seem to be perfect. However, my idle is a bit worse now & it does have worse gas milage, so now Iam thinking of setting it back to what it was. Would it be bad if left the idle AF at 16 & started adjusting WOT AF only? Keep in mind that my PCM does not re-learn the base setting & I can set the idle AF ratio to whatever I want.

TIA

At 16:1 I dont know how safe and how long you will be able to run it like that. One day you may hear a great big :boom:. What is your timing looking like?

How is the LM-1 hooked up and are you sure it's accurate??

Timing is 30-32 at cruising, and 28 at WOT. There is no KR. The LM-1 is hooked at the tail pipe. I know it is accurate because I did hook it to a hole after the headers & it gives me the same readings. Also I did test it on some other stock cars & it gives me fairly accurate readings.
