Default can you use a 2002 v6 ecm on a 2001 6.0?

I'm building a lq4 6.0 for my c10 with a 4l80e I have the factory harness with no ecm but found a ecm from a 2002 v6 camaro for 50.00. I will need to send the ecm out to get reflashed for the engine combo but will a v6 ecm work? Is $50 a good deal?

That's about the going rate for a Used PCM from a DIY wrecking yard.

The 411 PCM would be Ideal.

SERVICE# 12200411

These were used in cars and trucks from 2001-2002

I believe some of those Odd ball V6 PCMs found in some passenger cars are not capable of controlling an 8 cylinder vehicle.

If it is a 411 PCM with a v6 file and you have tunercat for obd2, you can do a full force over write with a 99-02 ls1 file and it will work. Hp tuners won't do it. Tunercat fully wipes the memory chips and writes every memory location.

If you don't believe me ask Ed Write.

Done it many times.

Nope. V6 only from my experience.

411 PCM is about $30 local to KC, Ks area.
