Throttle Pedal wiring Modifications ? Can I ?

Throttle Pedal wiring Modifications ? Can I ?
I'm in the process of installing a LS3 in a Porsche 996. I'd like to keep the Porsche throttle pedal.
I've looked at both the Porsche and the GM wiring schematic's and there is the same amount of wires going to each, six.
2ea sensors with 3ea wires to each sensors, 1 Ground, 1 5v, and 1 signal wire to both sensors in the pedal.
I need to use the Porsche wires from the Porsche pedal so I won't have to take apart the dash.
The stand alone harness I bought says, Do Not alter the wires going to the pedal or the throttle body. Question is WHY ?
The TB or the Pedal are not different parts depending on wire length.
I'm thinking this warning is just for Safety or ???
Thanks Much
Michael

You can't use the pedal from another car, it won't work. The ecm is expecting an array of sensors with special resistance and all sensors of the same pedsl are different from each other. They have different resistance and even work backwards to each other, so it's very improbable a pedal from another car has the exact specs.
The wiring can be modified I have done it, it is just better not to touch them because the system is very sensitive to resistance changes. If you have no alternative you can modify them, just use good quality wire of the same lenght and gauge for all of them and solder all splices.

Since the pedals are basically variable resistors it won't harm the computer. It will only go to reduced engine power. Depending on how different the sensors are from porsche to GM, the car may even be undrivable.
However, check the pinout from both pedals to make sure you don't short anything because doing so will damage the ECM

So I got out my Ohm Meter and this is what I got. I think these pedals are interchangeable, What do Ya'll think?
Porsche Pedal (6 wires total, 3 to each sensor)
Sensor 1
Grd to Sig, 1.27 , 1.9
Grd to 5v, 1.2 , N/C
Sig to 5v, 2.15 , 1.5
Sensor 2
Grd to Sig, 1.16 , 1.56
Grd to 5v, 1.69 , N/C
Sig to 5v, 2.59, 2.15
GM Pedal (6 wires total, 3 to each sensor)
Sensor 1
Grd to Sig, 1.3, 2.1
Grd to 5v, 1.1, N/C
Sig to 5v, 2.0, 1.3
Sensor 2
Grd to Sig, 1.3, 2.2
Grd to 5v, 1.6, N/C
Sig to 5v, 2.6, 2.4
First number is Idle, Second is Full throttle
Grd= Ground
Sig= Signal Wire
5v= 5 volt supply
N/C= No Change
