Adding flex fuel on 08 LY6?
Im looking for engine/trans managment. Im swapping a LY6 and 6l90 from an 08 2500HD 4x4. I got the engine/trans, hang-ons, and the harness with ECU from the 08. It will be boosted via standard issue 16cm^2 HX52. I want to run this on E85 but want flex fuel capability. I tuned my daily driver WRX for E85 and it sucks to have to reflash all the time, so I just never do, and drive it only on E85....
Im swapping thr 6L90 with the motor so I need to retain trans control with the OEM ECU. I have budget constraints so I need the most economical solution. This is going into a heavy old 4x4 truck.
Can I do anything with the OEM ECU to gain flex fuel capability? Maybe just enable some tables that are there but factory disabled? What EM software/system will allow me to do this?
Should I or is it possible to swap the ECU for a later (09+) VVT and flex fuel ECU?

Would the pin 40 addition apply to my truck ECU? Specifically is it known that my truck ECU OS has the needed blending tables, just not used? Or can I simply flash an OS for a vehicle that is known to have these tables? I think I need to retain some of the truck ECU OS functionality to keep the trans happy while providing 4x4 low signal (Im keeping it 4x4 with the 6l90).
Im sure these questions have obvious answers. Very noob on LS/HPTuners stuff, bear with me....

There is hope; thank you! The applications addressed are for E38 ECU in the same year range (08'ish) as my truck ECU.

Pin 40 should work on all e38 ecms
I have an 09 express van 4.8 e38 running flex fuel with the sensor in my turbo jeep
Make sure you copy all the relevant tables over from a flex fuel e38 file
