Default Buying a new PCM for my 02 Z28.

Hey guys when I install this new PCM who installs the VIN identification parameters??? I found one at Oreily's that is a refurbished Delphi for $150, can I take it to my GM dealership and have them do it with the Tech2?? Also does the PCM have to be installed in the vehicle or can I just bring the PCM to them. Definitely not a German car.lol. Thanks.

Around here, you give the Oreillys your VIN # and their warehouse programs it before it is delivered to the store. They are a lot cheaper at the salvage yard though.

Thanks for the info 2xLS1, if I find one at a salvage yard where can I send it to be programmed to my VIN? Thanks.

Any 12200411 PCM regardless of what it came out of can be programmed with your VIN and cars calibration by any competent tuner. If this has to do with your fan problem I would try and find someone with HP Tuners and use the scanner to command the fans on before I would decide the PCM is bad.
