Default low impedance injector use?

dunno if should post this here or in the fueling section ( so i did both).

i read in a web site that you can use low impedance injectors in place of hi impedance ones ( stock type) when using a factory pcm (on a buick), all you have to do is replace the injector fuse with a beefier one (20 amp).
can this be done on an ls1 pcm??

here's the link:

http://www.conleyracing.com/index.htm

go to articles, click on how to tweak your GN/T, then go to #3 "injectors: sizing and type". look halfway down the page.

Yes and no.

You need an external box to drive the low impedance injectors.
Just changing the MOSFET drivers in the VCM and upgrading the fuse will not work.

Low impedance injectors require a specific "peak and hold" current pattern.
If this is not adhered to, the injectors won't close fast enough due to the extra
magnetic hysteresis from coil over current. This will eventually burn them up.
Not to mention drive you nuts with fueling problems.

There used to be a device on the market made by Cherry Semiconductor. It was an "all in one" peak and hold driver IC in a TO 220 package. It has been discontinued and I can't find anything similar. That device could have replaced the MOSFET's inside the VCM.

If anybody knows of an equivalent to this device, please post it here.
Sometimes Mfgr's sneak parts into things and don't tell you what they are.

Pertty simple you lower the resistance = higher amperage for the injector drivers=not good.
The only IC boxes I've seen are the low impedance convertions like a speed inc's site>>
