lt 1 tuning???
hello. I just joined this site. I have a 1995 z28 that I just put a new crate engine in. it is a stock replacement lt 1. no upgrades or modifications other than a cat back borla exhaust. the car runs great other than fuel mileage has dropped since new install and sometimes when you back out of the throttle it smells like it is loading up or occasionally will die, but will fire right back up. I am an old school carb. guy, so this is a new machine to me. does this cars computer need a tune or something of that nature? thanks for any help or info

Sounds to me like the car has a prior PCM tune, I would recommend taking to a GM shop and have them flash the PCM. that Should cure the Problem, or give you a good starting point.

If you are wanting to do your own tuning look here

95's is an odd ball year and require a specific cable if I remember correctly.
If you are going to leave the car alone I'd get a mail order tune.
Do you have access to a scanner to see what the fuel trims are doing?
