I've done some search and can't seem to come across what I am looking for.
Which are the most desirable factory GM ECM used for JY turbo builds.. Going this coming weekend to a local salvage yard to take a look..can the stock ecu and wiring harnes from a truck work ? will work with HPtuners program ..

Service numbers ending in 0411 or 4896 are what you want to look for.

Yes, the 0411 is widely used by members for Turbo builds.
Avoid the '98 F-body as that has an unusual PCM and harness.
Any '99 through '03 F-Body or Truck with an LS1 engine will have a suitable PCM and wiring harness.

Just because I am finishing up a truck harness stand alone.......

Pay attention to where the ECM is located in the truck.
If it's in the drivers side front fender in front of the engine, harness lengths are all wrong if you want your pcm in the car under the dash on the pass side.

Thanks guys for the info, going to pick a part Saturday so I will see what I can find, they have plenty of trucks and v8 SUVs, malibu and such.. What were the common car or truck those serial number ECM were installed in?
