Default 98 to 99+ conversion. Is it really worth it?

I have a 98 SS with an 01 LS1, vrx4 cam and getting ported and milled 243 heads.
It has the basics, ls6 intake, headers, exhaust, orp, yank ss3600.

What benifits if any will I see by converting? I have an 0411 computer with the stock tune out of a Silverado.

If it's an A4 car, does it bounce off the rev limiter before it shifts at WOT?
Is your current pcm bad?
If you answered NO to the above questions, then its not broke and doesn't require fixing.

In the past it would hit the limiter on 2-3 shift at the track.

The 411 swap should eliminate that issue

That's not the fault of a 1998 PCM. I've tuned many 1998's with the 4L60E trans without issues. But I do install the Corvette 2-4 servo.

The only significant things you'd gain is more robust tuning support, and the ability to run an OS that can read more than 15psi boost. If neither of those things matter to you, then not worth it IMO. You can go plenty fast with the 98 pcm, I've tuned one that's going basement 9's at 153mph with a big single turbo.

Changing the servo is only going to make it shift harder when it finally shifts. Not always a good idea
