Default LS2 WOT timing question

I have an 06 MN6 corvette.
Current mods are Vararam, Full 3 inch Z06 exhaust and soon to have an Ls7 cam as well (dont chime in on the cam please)

Ill be doing some tuning in the next few weeks. Ive noticed my stock timing right now is 18-20 at wot. Never seen it about 22 if I remember right.

What WOT timing are you guys running just as a ball park. I know that you can sometimes add timing to the point that youre not gaining any more power but not seeing knock..

My c5 was at 26 degrees at WOT.

What would you guys say I should shoot for?

Man every car is different. Only way to really tell is put it on a dyno and add timing and see what it likes

There isnt a general rule of thumb or an average that people usually see? I was thinking of starting around 24 degrees and see.. Unfortunately I wont be able to dyno it for a while. This will just be street tuning

My bolt-on LS2 liked somewhere between 26-28* of timing at WOT with something like 12.4-12.6 AFR.

Yours might be a bit less with the slightly bigger cam, but low-mids 20s should be good and still be safe.

I'm running the same map I had in my ls1 with peak timing WOT of 27* and AFR of 12.7-12.8 up top, a little fatter in the mid area near peak torque

Without a dyno it's pointless, but you can try:

Ramping up to 26 by 3000 rpm, then ramp down around peak torque (~4200). Hold that timing for about 1000 rpms (5200) then ramp back up to 26 in the high end.

That should be pretty safe on a stock internal LS2.

I agree. I would start out at 22 and go from there.

Never seen an LS2 that's liked more than 22ish around peak torque. Depends on your car though, mileage, upkeep, elevation, the fuel etc.

Interesting, so I might be sacrificing some additional torque in the mid range by running high timing?

Depending on your elevation. What kpa value do you see at wot? If you see 95-100 kpa then try lower timing values.

Peak torque yes, there's usually no need to go more than low 20s. But you can usually pick up a few ponies to redline by increasing the timing a bit.
