98 pcm for corvette bad, can I put a 99 or newer in it?

A friend of mine has a 98 vette that the pcm is shot, can he use a 99 or newer? If not does someone have a 98 they will sell?

To run a 99 pcm in a 98 you have to re-pin the harness, you cant just plug a 99 pcm in and use it.
