Default Buildind a new car, need input on what engine and trans management to use.

So I'm building a turbo LS Grand National and would like to use Holley HP, MS3 etc for the engine management side but want input from people who have used both.

Also, the car will have a 4L80E in in, thought about going with the Dominator, but they are extremely pricey and not sure if I need all that. Thought about using a stand alone trans controller, who uses what and why.

I agree it's pricey but the Dominator can do pretty much anything. Being able to control the engine/trans with one OS seems way easier.

I have been looking at MS3 Gold Box, it does both as well and seems to have quite a following for support.

Stock ECU works pretty good at controlling engine and trans.

I did that on my last car, I liked it but just want to try something different and has more capabilities.

The Gold Box by itself will not control the transmission. You would have to use a microsquirt to control the transmission and it would connect to the goldbox via the CAN.

That being said. I personally have not used the Goldbox but I do have a MS3-PRO with is pretty much the same thing. I am not currently using a electronic transmission, but plan on installing a 4L80 in the near future. So I'll be getting a DIY micro to control that.
