Default 1st start after cam swap

Hi everyone!

So I'm about to finish up, a cam install and dod delete for my '08 G8 GT. It has a cortex canned tune with the dod turned off installed right now. I'm going to take it to a tuner as soon as I'm done, but am I ok starting it with just the cortex tune? I'd like to run it and make sure fluids are topped off etc. I was going to reinstall the factory tune so I can reuse the Cortex on something else (or sell it) at the tuners just before they take over. It's a mild cam, a Texas Speed stage 1, Kooks LT's, solo hi flow cats and exhaust.

Thanks,

Steve

I don't know what a cortex canned tune is but if all it has is the DOD enable/disable switch set to disable it will immediately set codes for the missing solenoids. When those codes set it won't fire the injectors on the 4 DOD cylinders. I've seen shops keep the DOD valley cover plugged in and set off to the side for startup until they got the solenoid codes disabled.

Ok thanks. By "canned tune" I just meant it's the performance 91 octane tune
that comes with the Cortex 2950. DOD is turned off.

So according to the above post, I'm ok? Has anybody else done this?
