green to tach wire of pcm, on a 98 it says Blue connector pin 35 white wire.

My problem is when i hook the green wire to the white wire the cars tach goes dead, it reads nothing.

Any ideas why? As soon as i unplug the green wire the car tach work agian.

This is on a 98 Z

Double check the # on the wire you are splicing, I know when I hooked mine up on my car I had to be very careful to choose the right wire. On mine its# 10 and it's white, I had a hard time reading the number on the plug and there were a few other wires the same color on the same plug. If you havent already done this.

Is it the factory tach in the IP?

The factory tach doesn't actually use that signal for the RPM reading so the light shouldn't impact it. If it's an aftermarket on on the same line, it might.

details??
