Anyone can benefit from a tune, even bone stock. The factory tuning is not set up perfectly, so there is always more horsepower to be found no matter how few mods you've got.

The reason why I ask is because I just threw on the ls6 intake yesterday and I raced my friends evo which I used to beat pretty good from a stop and he ended up pulling me on the highway.
