Help! Negative MAF readings????

Help! Negative MAF readings???? this is for a friend.
dynoing a turbocharged truck and at about 3800 rpm or so the scanner starts spitting out negative MAF values and the car falls on it's face.
already have gone as far as swapping out the MAF for a brand new one.
checking wiring now.
any other ideas??????
