Default Running boost on a 1 bar MAP sensor

I'm about to buiild a custom turbo setup and a friend brought a possible problem to my attention. He says that the LS1 PCM is set up with a 1 bar MAP sensor and that the PCM isn't set up to handle a 2 or 3 bar MAP sensor. What is the proper way to fix this problem?

The best solution would be to add a 2 or 3 bar map and reprogram the computer, currently only a few people know how to do this. Unfortunately they are not sharing. A 1 bar map can work fine as long as you don't exceed the 512 g/s of air flow, which is the limit of the stock pcm. Of course after that everthing gets tricky with the stock pcm.
