Really varies based on what you want to do... Simple handheld programmers have a lower learning curve, but can do alot less than an all out tuner

For hand held units I've heard good things about the Predator ... and about the Vinci Tuner ... (but I have not had experience with either first hand)

Right now for all out tuning solutions, HP Tuners is the way to go... a VERY nice scanning package, excellent tuning software, and quick read/write times... however the learning curve is greater...

HP Tuners 1.5 will have some really sweet features (if you get the upgraded cable it'll have even more) ... should make alot of people very happy
