P0342 and P0343 since new engine installed
Since putting in the rebuilt engine I keep throwing the same codes-
p0342 camshaft position sensor circuit low voltage
p0343 camshaft position sensor circuit high voltage
Looking at GM's service info at work it looks like it could be one of the following-
wiring
bad sensor
pcm
Damaged reluctor ring on camshaft
I was hoping the faults were thrown because the truck hasnt been tuned for the cam, but I have done a search and really havent come up with anything like that. Only a few post found related to this code and no answers as to what remedied the problem.
The truck is down right now with the transmission out, so I cant really check anything on it til I get it back together. The engine has approx 90 miles on it so far and set those codes just about everytime i drove it.
Anyone ever run across this before??

I bet he's hoping someone has figure this out then, lol.
The camshaft sendor is for rpm on the tach, but the only thing i could see it getting a high volt, then low is if like what ranwalk posted, damaged reluctor wheel.
