Default HP Tuners at Home?

I want to get HP Tuners to fine tune my car. Can I tune my car just by driving it without a dyno? What do I need besides what HP Tuners provides in their package?

your gonna need a wide band 02 to monitor and set your A/F ratio. If you get hptuners with wideband capability then your best bet is a LC-1. When you drive the car you can data log your A/F and adjust later

search buddy, you apparently need to read up on tuning stuff.

an LC-1 is a type of wideband sensor. you will need a laptop to interpret and log data from the hptuners cable via the hptuners software.

and yes, you can tune fine by just driving around....however you need to hit as many "cells" as you can when you drive, so it gets a wide variety of data.

I only really need to tune the part throttle and cold start. The car was just tuned with HP Tuners but needs some fine tuning. Can I do this without the wide band? Not sure whether to go with EFI Live or HP Tuners.

You can definately do it without the wide band. If thats all your looking to do then our standard interface is most likely your ideal choice.

I agree that you wont need a wideband immediately. I have pretty sucessfully dialed in both a speed density tune and a regular MAF tune using stock narrow band sensors, reading KR, and comparing "runs" on my $40 g-tech.
