Default Is this real knock retard? I am pretty sure...just looking for another opinion...

I was getting 4.5 degrees of knock retard at WOT (on my Malibu...) with the stock timing tables with 110 degree intake temps. Since it takes regular gas, I tossed in some premium along with some octane booster (supposed to raise octane up to 15 points or 1.5 octane), so I was running with maybe 94+ octane (I ran 70 miles to mis everything up and flush everything out of the lines before my last log) if I am lucky and my knock retard consistently dropped to about 1 degree or less. Are the stock tables just really agressive?

maybe it was just the high temps pulling timing out. i know in the ls1 it has tables for 100+ where it pulls timing, im wonderig if thats what is going on?

now that i have been paying attention to it i can hear a lot of cars spark knock in the heat, might be shitty 87 gas?

There is a IAT advance table pulling timing already. So that would mean that the IAT advance table is not pulling enough timing, except even when it is cold(er) outside I was still getting plenty of knock retard.

Nope, technically EGR cools your combustion temps. Besides, EGR does not flow at WOT.

ook wasnt thinking wot, but it cools combustion temps but increases the charge temp into the chamber.
