Default questions about tuning for higher compression and bigger cubes

im helping someone on here with their tune. the car is pulling knock like is nothing, 1-4 deg all over the table. WOT timing is set to 26*. compression is in the 11's, not sure on the exact numbers. anyway, knock is all over the damn place, the o2s are new and reading 920-930 mv. the motor is a 383 i believe iwht forged internals. im just wondering if he could run similar timing as the stock table just smoothed out, or where to start looking for false knock. initial sd run was off the low octane table and there was still knock so i think its false, but we are testing somemore things and id like your input

He should be able to run the stock high octane spark table.

1) Is he still using the PCV (stock or ls6 conversion) system? If so, install a catch can.

2) Ask him to check/smell his oil. It should not smell like gas. If it does, have him change the oil/filter. As well, start getting that tune stoich.

It is a possibility. If excessive oil is getting into the combustion chamber via the PCV hose to the intake it is a possible sourse for knock. A catch can should help in this situation.

comes from a shitty mixture so it wont fire right and also build up in the chamber, build up will heat up and act like a glow plug and fire before the car wants to

I went from 8* of random KR to 0 by installing the catch can.
