Quick Question: Stock Tune
I just finished reading the LS1 Tuning 101 Document and I'm wondering if this is what I'll have to go through in order to give my car a 'stock tune'?
I've done a Search and found nothing on what compromises a stock tune.
Thanks,
- J

you might be able to get a few more HP. I'm not aware of anyone that has fine tuned a VE table for a stock LS1 - but i haven't searched either
Edit: go for it! I just found a guy that has fine tuned a nearly stock ls1 and his gains are quite impressive.

there's so much you can do, play with fan settings, dial in VE/MAF/RAF for your car precisely, play with timing/AFR, take off AIR/EGR crap, set up sensible FTC boundries so the computer can learn better, etc.
hmm...maybe we should make something like that as a base for all year cars...

I've tried the VE method and got a little closer than stock. But, I'm going to try the other way now. Given my mods are fairly "light," I'm just going to tune the MAF to achieve the numbers I'm looking for. My stock VE table was no more than 3~4% shy in any given area, so I think I should be able to get away with this. The VE method seemed like overkill IMO. Let us know how you do.
