The above require you to purchase their hardware and they provide you with software that runs on it

Autotap -- Scanner only ... I know ThunderRacing and Speed Inc sell them
HP Tuners -- PCM Tuning and Scanner in 1 package www.hptuners.com
EFI Live -- Offers just scanner or Scanner and PCM Tuning in 1 package www.efilive.com

Between those, HP Tuners and EFI Live are the best... Autotap is the cheapest however.

There's also proscan, (sponsor on right, forget web page offhand) ... they offer the cheapest scanner only, however I don't believe it supports GM Enhanced Parameters (example, Knock Retard)

B&B Electronics sells just an OBDII cable/conversion box that converts to serial data, for those that want to write their own scanning software

You'll need:
1. Cable to go from Data Link Connector to the VPW (I believe that's the GM standard?) to Serial Adapter
2. a VPW to Serial converter
3. Cable to go from Converter to Laptop
4. Software to determine what to scan on the bus

Not really any good do it yourself ones that I'm aware of...
