How long to free-air calibrate LC-1 ??

How long to free-air calibrate LC-1 ?? OK, in the LC-1 manual it says to do a free air calibration (grounding the calibration wire) frequently. It says to ground the black wire for a brief time. My question is simple: how long a time is a "brief time". Are we talking 10 seconds, 30?? I just want to make sure my LC-1 is calibrated correctly before I do some VE tuning.
