Default Help - Need Immediate Help - Vinci Tuner - Help

Hi
In-Progress now 9:00 pm west coast

Hooked up the tuner to my 98 F body. It appears to have down loaded the stock data and then I selected my custom tune. It took about 45 minutes to download the stock tune.

After I pressed Yes to install the selected tuning, it came up with "Installing Selected Tuning, Making Changes to to stock data". It has been sittlng like that for about 1 1/2 hours and nothing is happening. I do not know if it is frozen or if it is still updating the stock program. 1 1/2 hours is a long time. I am freeking out.

Should I just leave it. Sooner or later the battery will die. Is several hours to udate the stock data normal? Any input appreciated. Should I leave it for a few more hours to see what happens?

Thanks JA

I agree call Vinci.
I just bought a used Vinci (version 1.00),the previous owner cleared the vin#,but they cleared a code with the car, when thats done (with version 1) the vin is locked into the Vinci. This is what i was told when i called, they helped me immediatly, and for 50 bucks,i sent it back, there going to install version 5 and send it back.
Mine did something similar as your, but not the same.It would start to download the stock tune, but would never finish,i tried charging the car battery, jumping out the control modules on the floor by the PCM.
They have great support in my experience.Sounds like a tunner issue though.
Heres the tech number from my instructions..1(407)292-4500

Hi

Unfortunatley I was doing it after hours, so I could not inlist their help when it was actually happening. I called Vinci and they are helping me through it. So far I have not blown up anything. I am trying a new battery first.

Thanks JA

Hi

Tried a new battery and an additional 2 hour trickle charge. The tuner froze on the "Please turn your key to the on position. Do not start your car" window.

I have a bit on a mystery. Some how I must of got a partial tune in. My speed limiter has disapeared. I am quite sure it always kicked in at 98 mph. I took the car out on the highway today and it kept on going well over 100 mph. I don't think I am having a brain fart. Perhaps I am getting too old. I suppose I will have to send it back again.

Thanks JA

minimum speed limiter on a 98 is 118mph with the shitty tires...160 is the norm though.
