Default Calibrating MAF with bad VE...possible?

From previous postings it looks like my MAF may be out of calibration. My understanding is that you can calibrate the MAF via the dynamic airflow PID (in HP Tuners). I.E. Log dynamic airflow and MAF Hz and then adjust MAF vs. Hz table to match.

I'm not 100% sure my VE table is all that accurate (if my MAF isn't right, the VE could be off too) therefore if I can't rely on the dynamic airflow calcs to be correct, how does one go about calibrating the MAF??

open loop, a wideband, and then turn down how much the VE factors into fueling

Maybe change the "high rpm disable" from 4000 rpm to something lower like 500 rpm so fueling is completely maf based.
