Default How many !Maf/ !O2 sensor cars?

Looking into a speed density tune and turning off all oxygen sensors pretty soon. Just curious how many have opted for this route also.

i'm there in the process of tuning my VE table, if you want to stick in a wideband and monitor your AFR on the fly, this is not a bad option. I've noticed much more throttle response as well. I'm not pulling quite the power you are, but I'm in the 440's and 400 trq range. Eventually, I might go to a Closed Loop SD tune, so any differences in the air temps that will throw off the AF mixture will be taken care of by the O2 sensors.

best Regards,
Adrian

lots of !MAF cars out there... but you won't find as many !o2 (open loop only)

I've thought about doing this... but the closed loop program does just fine while running speed density, and I have the car tuned just right for SD only operation...

However, depending on your situation/goals/mods there are instances where open loop is definetly better

I plan on removing the O2 sensors primarily because of issues with a slight studder in the mid RPMs due to my current mods. The tables have been adjusted to where they need to be for closed loop but still have issues with it. Also getting rid of them because I always get the SES light for them not switching properly (even with the Vette sensors).

mafless open loop here too, and on multiple occasions/vehicles.

I've been running !MAF for a while but just put it in OL last week after installing my wideband. Haven't done much tuning yet as I was trying to figure out how to send my WBO2 output to the EGR 0-5V input so as to avoid the $150 charge from HPTuners...works so far

MAFless closed loop SD here dont really have a need to be in open loop all the time. the car sees the street 85% of the time . also make sure there are 0 vaccum/air leaks as i just found out out what a small leak can do . 2000-2500 buck that i was pulling my hair out to fiqure out why, now i know

its not the vette sensors...its something in the tune....im tracking the switching issue now

right now, my car seems to vary between p1133 (bank 1 sensor 1) code throwing only

and thent throwing both of them....so maybe i'm on the right track to fixing them.

i'm running with the MAF..if the above doesn't tell you, lol

OLSD here as well. If you plan on staying with it after you are done tuning, get a gauge to monitor the wb.

I wanted to avoid the same charge, didn't want to pay for EIO, and didnt want to pay for shipping to and from UK. Anyway, I wrote up how I got my Wideand to go through my disused EGR plug.

Logging Wideand via EGR input

OL/SD for almost two years now. Will never go back to O2's.
