Default LS1 harness for BS3?

I see there is a harness available for BS3 that speed sells for 769 or so. I was wondering if I had to have it. I will have all autometer gauges no stock ones, a TH400 not a 4l60e, no A/C, and could I just wire the alt and fuel pump another way?

that harness is if you want to keep the stock PCM and gauges with the BS3. The BS3 will control fuel pumps and fans and in no way needs the stock PCM to work.

You can wire the alt field 'turn on' voltage through a resistor or in series with a light bulb or I think they sell a 'one wire' alternator in the newer style these use.

Well that's the best news I've heard in awhile! I was hoping I wouldn't need to spend another 800 bucks. Thanks!
