Car shifts very early - won't downshift (intermittent problems) We have a thread going in the auto transmission forums - I wanted to bring it over to the tuning section to get some input from you guys.

All of us are running aftermarket cams, the cars want to shift very early and go to 3rd gear and stay locked in third. We can manually shift fine with no issues. Its an intermittent issue but you never know when its gonna happen.

I assume because your sig says someone else tuned your car that you don't have tuning software? My suggestion would be to look at p0121 min/max map and see what the lower and upper map's are. I had to expand the range on mine to avoid shifting problems very similar to what you describe.

my brother had this problem and had to change his map settings to 75/85. i have a manual 6 speed and put a cam in my car and now i have hesitation problems. anyone know if the map settings only help out with automatics?
