Default service engine light NOT ses

as it says my dash says service vehicle not the service engine soon light so I am wondering what this is all about. how can I find out what is setting this off?

I believe non-emissons related codes trigger that light. Have you tried scanning for DTC's?

the only code i have now is a class 2 data link code u1000 would that be the one causing this? not sure what is setting the code but I'll be checking more wires obviously.

Besides the PCM, which modules did you transfer from the '00 Z28?

i have the bcm, and the dash witch is reading out the service vehicle light for me. is this a serial data info lead or is the a wire on the back of the dash i can supply with power to eliminate these lights with. thanks
