I took my car to a local shop that has a tuner who does ls1 edit, he has done a few ls1's around and did a nice job...well after he had the car overnight he calls me and says that he was unable to get any connection into my pcm and asked me if anyone else has ever tampered with it, which i dont know...but he said ethier I need a new pcm or his software is bad so he is testing it out on a corvette that he has access too. Now i am just curious if he says its my pcm and not the software...is he trying to take advantage of me and get me to order a new pcm so he can make a few more bucks or is it true...he has no way in?

if it was previously programed it could be locked. if so he can't do anything with it.

Possibly Tuner locked if programmed before.

OR

He has tried to program it, screwed it up and saying it never worked to begin with.

Tell him to check the cig lighter fuse.

That was my first thought too, but figured they sould know that. If it is just the cig/accy fuse don't know if I'd let them tune my car.
