A4 bad or tune problem?
Got my car back from a MS3 install and drive tune. Shop said they didnt want to dyno tune it yet because the transmission was slipping, so I just picked up the car.
The trans was running fine before the cam install so thats a big suprise to me!!!
Its a stock a4 with a SY3500 stall. I know these are weak transmissions but WTF. I drove it around today and it seems that under WOT the trans is shifting fine. Manually shifting it seems fine. But under aggressive part throttle it is slipping 2cd - 3rd. Do yall think its a tuning issue or is the trans. really going out? The guy is a reputable tuner but everyone makes mistakes right? I was told to fix the tranny and take it back then the dyno tune would be done. I also got an SES light and the "ASR off". Im very pissed.
Before the tune you could also have the car in D, left off of the brake and would just sit there and barely try to move. Now if you let off the brake it starts to pull as if the converter was locked up. I know that before the cam the car idled @ about 400 and now it idles about 950 but should it pull like that? Sorry guys, just had to vent.

What is the code and how many miles on the trans? The trans could have a tuning or mechanical issue. It's really hard to diagnose over the internet. Did they install the converter the same time as the cam?

i'v got that same code right now after installing my ls6 intake. My asr off light stays on and is disabled. The car inguages in drive or reverse really hard. Sometimes when i'm sitting in the car with my foot on the brake in drive the idle goes up to around 1500 and drops to around 500. And while it does that the car shakes like hell. it does that a coulpe times and then finds an idle at like 700-800. The manual says that the p0121 code is set if the pcm detects the predicted throtle position is below the actual tp sensor value. I have heard that when you set this code it disables the asr for some reason. Also i have heard I need a tune so they can raise the TPS test min and max MAP values or something like this.I would love to hear more about this because this is driving me nuts
