Default Deleted EGR but no SES?

I removed my EGR yesterday expecting to get throw a SES light but nothing happened. Is this unusual? The car runs fine but had some tuning issues when I purchased it three months ago. The dealer took the car back and "tuned" it. It runs o.k. but feels like it's slow down low. I had it dyno'ed and the operator said the engine "only pulled 6 degrees timing throughout the run". He speculated that the knock sensors were picking up a driveline noise. I'm still clueless. I replaced a warped rotor that may have been the source of the noise but the car runs no different. Any ideas?

there should be no timing retard, knock sensors could be a good place to start, also sometimes the egr, and air system ses codes take a bit to show up

I'd say someone has tuned that car previously and removed the codes for it (EGR that is).

I'd would be nice to see what the log was on the dyno run. Too see what the KR was, what the timing is really at, etc... I doubt the rotor caused that. ORY might, but thats rare.
