Default PLX SM-AFR installation

Search wasn't helping out much... a while back I was in on the PLX group buy, but the car's been down and I'm just getting to wire it in now. The directions on it are very vague, so I'm wondering what f-body specific stuff I need to know (i.e. is it easier to run the sensor wires thru the firewall or the floor, best place to mount the unit, etc)/what's the easiest way to do this. Basically, I've got the sensor plug in and the gauge plug in fine, and from what the directions are saying I've just got the male wire from the guage connector to the unit. Now I'm looking at the other wires and such that came with the wideband unit and pretty much wondering WTF they're for, and what else I need to do to finish this and make sure I don't fry the thing.
