Default Vinci won't read.

It says in the instructions if it doesn't read to remove two gray star connectors from white terminal ends on pass. side under carpet adjacent to trans. tunnel and jump purple and dark green terminals with paper clip. Only problem is i pulled the carpet back and I'm not seein a ten pin terminal with a purple and dark green wire.
If anybody knows where this is i could use some help.
Thanks

By not reading you mean it's not powering up at all? I'm not familiar with the Vinci/Crane, but handhelds need power at the DLC port - the culprit is normally an open CIG/ACCY fuse. Hope this helps.

It's gettin power. It starts out sayin it's in stock tune and not to start the car then it says it's reading for about a minute, then says it can't read and gives the phone number for Vinci.

I called earlier. I guess I shoulda did a little more research.
The instructions say 1998 to 2002, but 1998 Vinci Tuners are completely seperate from 1999 to 2002.
I thought they were all the same.
