Unplug the maf & you'll be running with primarily your map sensor for your airflow calculations.

If the MAF sensor is removed the car will still run but it will not perform well without expert tuning. MAFless (Speed Density) tuning requires detailed knowledge of the engine control system and tuning software such as EFI Live or HPTuners. Why do you want to eliminate the MAF sensor?

Depends on the mods and the stock operating system really as the earlier 98-00 operating systems would command max line pressure which in auto's would definitely not be pleasant, but for most simple bolt on cars it would run just fine in SD mode even without a tune.
