Default Timing of a stock LS1 vette

I have a 99 vette with the typical boltons like headers, air intake, LS6 intake, ported TB. Is there any benefit to chnaging the stock timing tables? In the past I have them advanced a bit, but now I hear it may better to retard them a bit. Any opinions out there......Thanks

It all depends on if you are getting any KR knock retard. Basically if you get kr reduce timing in those areas, if not you can advance it. Advancing it may not give you any gains, but reducing it where you get kr will help to keep it safe. Be careful increaseing the timing, thats how things break.
