Default PO 171-174

This is really getting old. I was racing yesterday and threw the PO174 code 4 times . 3 times it was at an idle the 4th was while under acceleration in 2nd gear. All I have is a scanner tool. I just put a Granatelli 85mm MAF on it about 3 months ago. My wife fisrt had the problem about 2 weeks ago while I was still deployed to Iraq. Now that I'm driving it seems to happen almost everyday. What is it and how do I fix it???????????? PLEASE HELP

It's the GMAF. I ran one and it threw the same codes; first intermittently, then they stuck on.
It also caused a surging idle. Put the stock descreened MAF back on then the problems and codes went away.

Those codes mean you are running at least 25% too lean.

From what I've heard, you want to stay away from aftermarket MAFs completly, unless you want a big job with LS1edit getting them dialed in. And why do that since you get almost no HP gain from using them anyway, since the stock MAF will support over 400 rwhp.
