i just bought a 95 T/A LT1, while just putting along to work, my service engine soon light will come on for about a minute, then will go out. Had Oreally's hook up the scan tool and it does have a OBD2 connector and the scanner said there was no communication. since i work at a GMc dealership i had a tech hook it up (not sure what he used), and the code came back as a Bank 2, Sensor 2 O2 sensor code. From what i have gathered my car is OBD1 with the OBD2 connector.

The previous owner had already installed Lt's, TD's, and no cats. the owner said a "tuner" down the street did the tune for him and he tuned out the rear O2's.

Did the OBD2 connector on the OBD1 computer somehow confuse the scan tool that was hooked up, and the O2 code is incorrect?

f-body's all got the newer style connector in 95, but they're still OBD1 through the end of the 95 model year...I think Vettes got the connector in 94...they're all like that, not just yours.

i understand that, but i'm basically wondering if the trouble code brought up is the incorrect one, possibly confused the scan tool because it is OBD1 with an OBD2 connector. the code is for a rear O2 sensor, but the rear O2's were supposed to of been tuned out.

I bet the guy the guy at parts store was using an obd2 scanner instead of an odb1 which is why he wasnt able to get any communication. If I remember correctly the 95's didnt have after cat o2's?. You also cannot not tune out rear o2's in Tunercat or LT1 edit for obd1.

The code will tell you if he was reading OBDI or II, two digit vs. 4, right?
