Default Question about buying new ECM

I am on the edge of getting my ls1 swap running in my 2000 camaro and basically all i need now is a ECM

my question is do i need to just get an ECM from a 2000 ls1 a4 or does it have to be specific to all the options that are on the car like traction control, gears, etc....

any help is appreciated

thanks!

did you swap from a 3800? if so get a #9354896 pcm it's used in '99 '00 f-bodies and pickups of the same years. whats the harness out of? you are going to need some tuning unless you get really lucky with finding a pcm. the wrong operating system in a pcm will run the engine with ses light on and the a4 may get real pissed. you can get in to a situation the car starts ok drives sluggish starting off in 2nd or 3rd and then shifts into 2 gears at the same time.
see if you can get a mail order tuner to hook you up . if they read your 6cyl one you will be golden

What all do you have done on the project? Is the wiring complete? We can set you up with a pcm.

Yes the wiring is complete and came from a 1999 camaro ss a4.....I actually need a ECM that has all the car options and all the engine parameters for a 1999 ls1

so if someone can hook me up let me know

Any 99-02 GM LSx (V8) pcm will do. There were multiple part numbers over those years. They can be easily identified by the markings of "BLUE" and "RED" on the connectors.

Your original V6 pcm will not work. The V6 pcms are easily identified by the markings "BLUE" and "CLEAR" on the connectors.

I would suggest using a 2002 operating system with the A4 transmission segment.

We can set you up.

so you are saying the 411 and the 9354896 have all the drivers on the same pins and will interchange? it seems like i tried that a couple years ago
and got an error message of wrong pcm.
