Default MAP @ idle Diablo Sport

I just got a Predator tuner from a guy I bought some parts from but the tuner is locked. I hooked it up to use it for diagnostics and my MAP is 14.1psi with the car off and around 5psi with the car on at idle. I guess my question is: Is this normal? Is it because of atmospheric pressure(14.7psia)? When I turn the car on and it goes to 5psi, would that actually be around 10psi vacuum on a boost gauge? Any help is appreciated.

That sounds about right to me. A motor is a vaccum so the only way you would have a higher pressure is if you have a blower.

I called diablo sport today and the guy I talked to told me it's normal. Thanks for the responses.

I have a blower and that's why I was concerned. I don't have a boost gauge and I was worried something went wrong with the install because the Predator showed 5psi when I turned it on. Then I noticed it showed 14psi before the car was on so I was hoping the 5psi it showed while at idle was actually vacuum.
