Default WS6 Air box

Just got it in last night... not sure if there really is any gains or not, but logic tells me there will be lol. Got it at a decent price, too!

Some People will say there are no gains to be had switching the lower air box to a WS6 box, I say there has to be, Larger opening means more air flow, which is what everyone it trying to achieve.

Might be an adjustment in IAT's, causing the timing to get a little shift.

Don't count on any kind of gain any time soon. The nostrils on the WS6 hood don't seal with the opening on the air box, which means that all of that "ram air" just gets rammed into the engine compartment. Unless the hood seals to the box, "ram air" is a joke that really isn't too funny...

If I'm not mistaken the LT1 WS6 cars did have a true ram-air set-up.

I think I got a great deal. $75 + shipping, came with ram air lid (same thing as stock lid... but it's got the sticker that says "Ram Air"... +20 hp), and a K&N filter.

Can not use washers to up the stock air box. The air box doubles as the upper radiator support, and raising it up with washers will free the radiator.

you are correct. there is a rubber gasket that seals the box to the hood.
