Default Which hurst shifter fits 73 firebird

Ok first post here. Hope you can help.

I'm in the middle on a trans swap on a 73 bird. I know wrong car and good lord why!!

Let's not get into that.

Anyway. I've got a Muncie (m20), 4 speed floor hump, clutch petals, clutch linkage kit, z bar & bracket, bell housing, fork, flywheel, etc

What I can't find is a hurst comp + shifter & linkage. Hurst has for 70-72 & 74-81, but it skips 73?

Anyone know which shifter and linkage fit? I'd like to use a console in the car as well.

Thx for your help

Not sure why they'd skip '73, nothing unique about them than I can think of. You can call Hurst and ask, or since you have a Muncie, I'd go w/ the shifter for the older cars since they for sure had Muncies, the later ones like my '76 had a BW-T10. '73 may have been a transition year where both trans were used in production, but the shifters were not compatable?

Hurst tells me that 73 came with a saganaw, but I think it was m22 in the 455sd. Anyway I ordered 70-72 with linkage for Muncie. Well see I guess.

I thought the only Saganaws used in the 2nd gen f-bods were the 3-spds. My '77 Camaro LT had a Sag 3spd. Its been a while since I've been "into" the 2nd gens, so I'm probably mistaken. But I know you are right, no Saganaw would live long behind the SD:

Super Duty engines had a choice of transmissions: the near bullet proof Turbohydramatic 400 three-speed automatic or the famous Muncie "rock crusher" close ratio four-speed manual with a Hurst shifter.
