Another 4th gen lighting question....
I have been searching and haven't really found (unless I missed it somehow) anything on my topic. After reading countless posts on HID lights in our T/A's and the arguments for and against them in halogen housings (not trying to get another bashing started), I have a couple questions. Has anyone run the replacement PIAA 880 bulbs, xTreme Plus I believe they are called? Was curious as to how they perform, but haven't really run across anyone that has experience. I was also thinking of doing the LMC housings with the matching PIAA bulbs there too. They have a line that is suppose to be 4000K for 880 and 9006 bulbs. Does anyone know the temp of the bulbs that come with the housings? Again, I am not 100% sold on the HID although it is very sharp looking. Just exploring other options I guess.

Quit fooling around.
Get the LMC housings.
Get HID's for the lows. 5K temp.
Any type of Halogen incadescent lamp with a tint to make it "look like" a HID just cuts down it's lumen output. And those lamps that claim a higher output from the same wattage? Bullshit.

I just have the argument from some running around in my head about HIDs in halogen housings, about the glare and light scattering and everything. That in part is what is holding me back.

The LMC housings have excellent pattern control and cutoff. I was also concerned with this but after trying them with regular lamps the the HID's, I went with it. It has little glare when aimed correctly.
I'm very happy with them and looking back wish I started with them instead of trying every headlight/housing/bulb combination out there.
