Ok so ive taken the pushrods out and inspected them and they are all ok so im not sure what the knock is that im getting? When its running the car will idle at the correct level but there is just a loud knock and not sure what it is? Its a 3.4L automatic with 133,000miles. To me the noise sounds like a thrown rod type noise but rods are ok.

What where you doing when the sound happened? I was racing my 5.7 whan i spun a rod bearing. It was puzzeling and I checked and double checked everything. It wasnt until i torn the engine apart that my #5 rod had spun. there was almost nothing left of it because i kept running it to figure out the issue. I also bent a push rod, and notched the top of one of my pistons.
