Default Thinking of buying a Formula

Hi everyone, I've been on this forum before but never really posted anything. I used to own a 2001 3.8L Firebird..nothing really special about it except the W68 package but it was nice.

Well I sold that and I found a Formula in my area that seems put together nice its a 2000 M6 with 120k on it and has some bolt ons. QTP Long tubes, QTP offroad y pipe and an SLP LM1 exhaust. GM 3.73's in the rear. Also has a monster clutch and a tick master cylinder. I talked to the owner but haven't looked at it yet he said it's been dyno tuned.

My concern is that it would have to be my daily driver, and no cats is way illegal in NJ. They use the mirror to look underneath the car and if they find theres no cats, well its a fail. My question is to make it road legal how would I put cats on if the car has already been tuned to run without them? And is the mileage being a little high something I should stay away from? I know these cars get beat lol, so I'd just like to know if it's worth checking out.

Thanks,
Jake

I don't think 120xxx is all that high of mileage for these ls motors. They can go the long haul. Mine has 140xxx and still running strong as ever. As far as the cats I'd just get some hi flows thrown under there and I'd think yu would be fine. O could be wrong but other members will surely correct me. Good lick tho bud. Hope she's solid for ya

I know these are solid motors, I just figured I'd ask about mileage anyway. The thing I want to know though is if I put cats on before the 2nd O2 sensors, like where cats would normally be, would the O2's get a lean exhaust reading and tell the computer to run rich?

Wow, can't beat that for 40 bucks and they are stainless steel. I'll have to look into that I guess I'd need 2 right? One after each header?
