Very new to the TA world I have only had my car for 2 weeks and the transmission is slipping. The car only has 76,000 miles on it with mods. Now the guy I bought it from had the tune all messed up and when we put the tune back to origins is when the transmission started to slip. Last night not sure if we lost 3&4 gear as this is an automatic. Now the car has sat in storage for 4 years before I bought so wondering could the seals have dried on the transmission and maybe they need to be replaced? Now the transmission fluid is a dark red and I have been told it has a burnt smell.
Any help would be great.

Sounds like to me the 3/4 clutch pack is burnt out. Currently have the same issue with my car, i have 1-2, 3rd is like neutral, and 4th slips. My tranny fluid was also burnt. Sounds strange that it started slipping when you changed the tune maybe others will chime in with a different answer.

this happened to me first it started with 3rd gear slipping then go into 4th then later on it 3rd and 4th went out. I ended up just replacing the tranny out of an 04 goat..............
